The game might eventually be ported to many platforms including

To manage the porting of the games, the development could be branched into 3 forks.

Microsoft fork:

Posix fork:
Console fork:

Controller mapping would include configurations for the X-arcade Tankstick and for gamepads like the Gravis gamepad pro, The Saitek P2500 Rumble gamepad, and the Philips Recoil gamepads.

Arcade system would consist of a mini-ITX motherboard with a minimal of a 500Mhz 32-bit X86 processor and 256MB of RAM. AC97 5.1 audio support so the game audio can be 24-bit@48Khz in quadraphonic (4 channels). The quadraphonic audio would be provided by two sets of stereo speakers.

Video processor must be at least 128-bit with at least 16MB of memory. Video output should be for televisions with composite, S-video, and component video if available.

I have found a motherboard that looks like it may be what I need for an arcade system. It is a motherboard made by Quixant and it is actually made for the same purpose as what I want to use it for. It even uses an AMD CPU and an ATI graphics processor while having 6 channel audio just like I wanted. I am thinking about getting one of these in the future. It was a surprise for me to find that a manufacturer makes the same product that I want.

These Quixant motherboards also feature custom versions of Linux featured with them. That is good because I wanted a Linux from scratch distribution for the arcade system anyway instead of using bloated Windows or even a fully bloated Linux distribution. I wanted a custom Linux from scratch distribution anyway so this machine can be dedicated to just the gaming task.

Hard drive capacity should be about 40GB or maybe more. USB 2.0 and DVD drive would also be needed. I have been thinking of using a flat tube television for the arcade monitor because of their cheap price and availability. Here is one of the televisions that I have considered.
Philips 21 inch 21PT5006/63
Philips 20 inch 20PT6245 (PDF download) I have one of these televisions and I think it is a great choice for use as an arcade monitor. (I hope Philips keeps making them)

I think this system will do fine for the arcade game.
System 3688 with the VIA EPIA EX15000G Mini-ITX Mainboard and 1.5Ghz C7 processor, more information about the motherboard and processor
